Tottenham are in talks to bring Sevilla starlet Bryan Gil to north London in a deal that would send Erik Lamela the other way, according to reports.
Lamela arrived at the club as its record signing in a £30m move in 2013 but has struggled to repay that fee amid years of niggling injuries – and his time with Spurs could finally be coming to an end.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims both clubs are finalising a deal that would be worth £25million to Sevilla plus add ons, with an agreement expected soon.

Gil, a 20-year-old winger who started his career with Sevilla, has made a total of 21 appearances for the club but spent last season out on loan at Eibar.
He featured 29 times – scoring four goals – but failed to prevent their relegation as they finished rock bottom of LaLiga and were sent down to the second tier.
Gil might be little known to Premier League fans but he is highly regarded in the game and has already picked up three caps for Spain.
He made his debut in 2019 aged just 17 and became the first child of the 21st century to score in the Spanish top division after netting against Rayo Vallecano in the same season.

Should Lamela leave it will put an end to a disappointing eight year spell plagued by injuries
Sevilla – who finished fourth in LaLiga last season – would be able to offer Lamela a new lease of life after watching his Tottenham career stagnate following 255 appearances which saw him score 37 times – including two memorable rabonas.
Should Spurs wrap up a deal for Gil, it will be the latest in a string of moves being lined up for new boss Nuno Espirito Santo as newly-appointed director of football Fabio Paratici gets to work on adding talent to the squad.
Sportsmail understands Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini – formely of Aston Villa is set to sign for the north Londoners on loan, while the club are also working on a deal to sign Juventus defender Cristian Romero – who was on loan at Atalanta.
A report from football.london adds Atalanta will activate a £13million option to sign Romero permanently for Juventus as part of the loan deal, before selling him on for a profit.

The 23-year-old played 42 times in all competitions for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, including 31 displays in Serie A in a campaign which saw him win the division’s Defender of the Year Award for last season.
Before last season, the centre back was on loan at former club Genoa from Juventus, while Romero also played alongside Lionel Messi in the Argentina side that won the Copa America earlier this summer.
Tottenham’s defence needs boosting as Toby Aldeweireld recently revealed his desire to quit the club, while Spurs have been chasing the likes of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde and Lyon defender Joachim Andersen, on loan at Fulham last term.
Italian goalkeeper Gollini, meanwhile, has been the main man between the sticks for Atalanta for the past three seasons, a period which has seen them emerge as Champions League regulars.
