Tottenham and Manchester City are reportedly in negotiation over a deal for Harry Kane. City boss Pep Guardiola claimed last week that a transfer could not happen until Spurs were open to negotiating. It appears the Spaniard may have got his wish in recent days.
Kane told Tottenham earlier this year that he wants to leave the club this summer.
The England captain wants to give himself the best chance of winning silverware and does not think Spurs is the right place to do that.
City have already spent £100million on Jack Grealish but are still interested in signing Kane.
Speaking ahead of the Community Shield loss to Leicester last weekend, Guardiola admitted his interest in the 28-year-old.

However, he insisted it was a non-starter if Spurs would not allow negotiation to begin.
“He (Kane) is a player for Tottenham Hotspur and if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, it is finished,” Guardiola said.
“I think Man City and many clubs in the world want to try to sign him, we are not an exception, but it depends on Tottenham.
“It is different to Jack. He had the release [clause] and Jack is different.

“Harry is exceptional and we are interested in him but if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, nothing more to say.”
But speaking on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast, Ian McGarry says talks between Spurs and City to finalise a fee have begun.
McGarry said: “It is our information that negotiations with Tottenham are ongoing with regards to trying to find an agreeable price for Kane.
“Daniel Levy is continuing to hold out for at least a fee in excess of £120m.”
Spurs have been linked with Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez and Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as potential replacements for Kane.
McGarry says Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is also attracting interest from Spurs.
Abraham is wanted by Serie A side Roma as well as Spurs’ north London rivals Arsenal.
“Tottenham are clearly looking at options if Kane is sold,” he added.
“It is also the case that it seems to be inevitable before the transfer window closes, that Kane will become a Manchester City player.
“And Tammy Abraham is one of those who Nuno is looking to recruit to replace Kane.”
