Thomas Tuchel and Todd Boehly agree to sell another Chelsea star after Lukaku
Thomas Tuchel and Todd Boehly have agreed to sell Hakim Ziyech, with the Chelsea winger already in talks over a summer transfer move.
Chelsea spent £33.3m to sign Morocco international Ziyech from Ajax in 2020 but he has largely struggled at Stamford Bridge.
Ziyech had spent four impressive seasons at Ajax, scoring 49 goals in 165 matches and helping Erik ten Hag’s side win the Eredivisie title and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
But he has struggled to cement a place in Chelsea’s first team, starting just 14 of their 38 Premier League games last season and not featuring in the Champions League at all.
Chelsea have hinted they are ready to offload Ziyech by targeting wingers this summer, with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele strongly linked with moves to west London.
According to Gianluca di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano, Ziyech wants to leave Chelsea and Blues boss Tuchel and new owner Boehly are ready to sanction his departure.
It is claimed that Ziyech has already opened talks with AC Milan and is keen to join the Serie A side having fallen out of favour at Chelsea.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Ziyech has scored 14 goals in 83 appearances and won the Champions League, Club World Cup and Super Cup, albeit as a bit-part player.
Ziyech will not be the only high-profile departure from Chelsea this summer, with Romelu Lukaku closing in on a loan move to Inter Milan.
Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have already left to join Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively, while club captain Cesar Azpilicueta could yet return to Spain.
Chelsea are yet to bolster Tuchel’s squad with any summer signings but are keen to bring Sterling to the club, with Boehly promising to spend more than £100m on new additions.
