Thiago Silva has reacted on social media after Fulham forward Carlos Vinicius escaped punishment for striking the Chelsea defender in the head.
The Blues finally got back to winning ways in the Premier League on Monday night with a 2-0 victory, thanks to goals from Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja.
Following a weekend of VAR controversy, there was one moment of madness from Fulham striker Vinicius, which went unpunished during the clash at Craven Cottage.
Chelsea fans were left furious after Vinicius struck Silva on the side of the head – with what some have described as a karate chop – in the 57th minute of the contest and somehow avoided a booking.
Silva, in a post on his Instagram story, wrote: ‘Not even in the UFC is this punch allowed. But it’s cool.’

Silva dropped to the floor holding his head, with Vinicius then pushing his Brazilian compatriot in the back as the defender covered the ball
Vincius didn’t even receive a booking for the clash which Silva said wouldn’t even be allowed in the UFC
Vinicius sprinted over to Silva, and without even attempting to play the ball off his Brazilian compatriot, struck him on the side of the head.
Silva went down to the floor clutching his head while covering the ball, with Vinicius then shoving his opponent in the back in his annoyance of not being able to take the ball of him.
The 39-year-old then got back to his feet to have a word with Vinicius, only for his team-mate Levi Colwill to stick his arm out to stop him approaching the Fulham forward.
The incident follows the major controversy during Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham on Saturday, where the Reds wrongly had a Luis Diaz goal disallowed for offside.
It came from a misunderstanding between the on-field officials and those at Stockley Park, with VAR official Darren England wrongly believing that the goal had been awarded before he told referee Simon Hooper ‘check complete’.

Fans again hit out at VAR following the clash involving Silva and Vinicius.
One fan wrote: ‘It was a red card for Vinicius with that karate chop. F*** VAR, f*** officiating in this country.’
Another said: ‘I’d absolutely love to hear the @FA and @FA_PGMOL talk about this and explain to us how it wasn’t a red card offence. Carlos Vinícius should have a retrospective 3 game ban handed to him for this deliberate assault on Thiago Silva.’
While one Chelsea fan commented: ‘UFC elbow to the neck/back could have landed Silva in a retirement home.’
