Arsenal hero Aaron Ramsey “would love” to rejoin the Gunners in January, reckons his former Gunners team-mate Theo Walcott. Ramsey left Arsenal in the summer of 2019 to join Juventus on a free transfer. It ended an 11-year spell at the Emirates for the Welshman, where he won three FA Cups including scoring the winner in two of the three finals.

Ramsey made over 350 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions.

But he was unable to agree a new contract with the club and Unai Emery allowed him to leave two summers ago.

The midfielder has not had it all his own way at Juve though and has struggled with injury problems.

Reports say he wants to return to the Premier League in the January transfer window after making just three Serie A appearances this term.

The 30-year-old impressed in Wales’ two World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and Belgium in the last few days, scoring twice in the first fixture.

Walcott played alongside Ramsey for the majority of his time at Arsenal.

And he has a feeling a move back to north London could be on the cards.

“Do you know what, it would be lovely, it would be fantastic for him to come back to the Premier League,” Walcott said on talkSPORT.

“I feel like he would want to, definitely, and some part of me in my head is thinking he would love to come back to Arsenal. I just do, something about that would tick a box. But obviously it’s one of those things.

“He’s at Juventus, he played very well for Wales last night, so it’s really good to see.

“Obviously I think a lot of people have been on his back in Italy, I haven’t seen enough of it so I can’t really comment on that.

“But for me he’s a leader, he’s a workhorse, he’s still playing for his country, he’s got so many caps.

“It would be great for him to come back to the Premier League. We want all these players to be in the Premier League.”

Earlier this year, Arsenal legend Robert Pires predicted Ramsey to return to the Gunners one day.

But Pires said there was still unfinished business for him at Juve.

“He is very intelligent and knows how to adapt everywhere, Juve is a very big club and Serie A is improving him even more,” Pires told TuttoJuve.

“He needs to stay a few more years and then he will return to Arsenal.

“It is my belief, I am not a fortune teller.

“Aaron would be perfect in Mikel Arteta’s game system, but he belongs to Juve and he has to stay focused on the Old Lady to win trophies.

“This year he has already won one, I hope it’s just the first in a long line.”
