Ten Hag looking to ‘fast-track’ Man Utd icon’s son after first-team opportunity
Erik ten Hag has been so blown away by the 16-year-old son of a Manchester United legend that he's planning to fast-track him into the first team squad.
Jack Fletcher, whose father is ex-United midfielder and current technical director, Darren Fletcher, has been turning heads since being poached from Manchester City's academy, alongside twin brother Tyler, in the summer. Ten Hag has been keeping tabs on the youngsters, and asked Jack to train with the senior squad ahead of their Champions League clash with Galatasaray on Wednesday.
The Dutchman thinks Fletcher has huge potential and is now working with his staff to form a progression plan for the midfielder. It's thought that he could be loaned out next season, before being promoted to the first team when he returns.

"Erik Ten Hag has been watching Jack closely for several months now and has been really impressed," a club source told The Sun. "He thinks he has huge potential which is why he decided to promote him to train with the first team last week.
"Ten Hag is now working with his staff to put a plan in place to try and develop and fast-track Jack’s progress. He is likely to go out on loan next season but Erik believes, in the long term, he has a massive future at United. He’s been wowed by his attitude, and his maturity and thinks he is the latest in an exciting crop of talent to be coming through at United."

Despite the fact their dad earned 80 caps for Scotland, both Jack and Tyler have represented England at youth level. Tyler has since switched allegiances to Scotland but Jack has stuck with England, meaning the twins could one day line up against each other at a major international tournament.
They wouldn't be the first siblings to represent different national sides. Jerome Boateng played for Germany while his half-brother Kevin-Prince played for Ghana. Granit Xhaka chose Switzerland while his brother Taulant played for Albania, and Spain international Thiago Alcantara's brother Rafinha has a couple of caps for Brazil.
