James Tarkowski has hilariously responded to Patrick Bamford after the Leeds forward made a dig at Burnley following their 1-1 draw.

The two sides faced off in a heated affair at Turf Moor which saw referee Michael Oliver dish out a staggering seven yellow cards.

Tackles were flying in left, right and centre and Bamford endured a battle with the Burnley backline including Tarkowski.

The two came together in the early going in what Bamford described as a "weird jiu-jitsu move" in his post match interview.

Tarkowski took to Twitter to reply to the comment, simply sending a gif of Mr. Miyagi, the karate master from The Karate Kid film series.

Despite battling hard on the pitch, Bamford said there were no ill feelings between him and his foes come the final whistle.

"To be honest I was a little bit annoyed with Tarkowski to be fair, it was just a tussle on the floor but he tried to do some weird jiu-jitsu thing on me," he said.

"I don't know what he was doing. I quite enjoy having a little fight with them and after the game we were all fine and shaking hands and stuff so it’s alright.

"It’s always tough coming here. You don’t want to be disrespectful but you know what you’re going to get when you play against Burnley.

"They do make it difficult and it’s a bit of a fight and it was a fight all game."

Chris Wood had given the Clarets the lead in the second half and it looked like they would avenge their 4-0 loss in the same fixture from near the end of last season.

But Bamford was in the right place at the right time to level late on and then cup his ear to the home fans in celebration.

The 27-year-old had a very unsuccessful loan spell with the Clarets during the 2016/17 season, during which time he did not get along with manager Sean Dyche.

The issues between the two have been well documented and therefore Bamford received a frosty reception.
