Tottenham’s incoming new manager Paulo Fonseca has seemingly made Tariq Lamptey his top transfer priority this summer. It’s been a summer of change at Spurs over the past few weeks with Daniel Levy trying to find Jose Mourinho’s successor.
Antonio Conte had been the club’s top choice to come in after the Italian left Inter Milan.
Talks had taken place with the former Chelsea boss, but Conte eventually rejected the offer.
Spurs quickly turned their attention to Fonseca with Fabio Paratici also coming in as the club’s managing director of football.
An announcement is expected soon of Fonseca being named as Tottenham’s next manager.

And it appears as though the former Roma boss has already identified his first transfer priority.
According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are interested in signing Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey.
The England Under-21 international earned rave reviews for the south cast side this past season.
“We’ve been told in the last hour that Tottenham are interested in signing Tariq Lamptey,” Dharmesh Sheth said on Sky Sports News.

“There is a gap you’d think at Tottenham because they brought Matt Doherty in from Wolves last summer.
“He only started 13 times in the Premier League.
“Serge Aurier is their other right-back and he’s got a contract which runs until 2022 so he’s entering the final year.
“He’s made noise that he wants to go to Paris Saint-Germain so I think Tottenham would be listening to offers for him.”
Lamptey may also fit more into Fonseca’s style of play as a more attacking full-back.
The Portuguese coach often adopted a formation of three central defenders, allowing his full-backs to push further up the pitch.
And there have also been reports suggesting that signing at least one centre-back this summer is also a top priority for Spurs.
