Sunderland man Luke O’Nien has caught the eye again after attempting to kiss an opposition player on the lips on Saturday.

The Mackem’s picked up a valuable three points on Saturday in their 1-0 win over Norwich City, ending a run of three consecutive defeats to pick up a shock win at Carrow Road against David Wagner’s side who’d won their previous three games, completely turning the form book on its head.

Victory for Tony Mowbray’s side takes them just three points behind the Canaries who fell out of the play-off spots following the defeat.

But footage has shown Sunderland utility man O’Nien celebrating the three points prematurely as he attempted to snog Norwich defender Jacob Sorensen after the pair clashed on the by-line.

O’Nien’s actions were not welcomed by the Norwich man who instead attempted to grab the cheeky Sunderland man by the throat, leaving both somehow avoiding a booking.

Following the victory in Norfolk, Sunderland fans took to Twitter to laud both the performance of the 28-year-old as well as his on-field moment with Sorensen.

Sunderland reporter Phillip West tweeted on O’Nien’s performance: “A special word for Luke O’Nien.

“What a performance. He played like a man possessed once again. Tackled like a madman, headed everything, covered every blade of grass. Nothing short of immense.”

Despite his incredible display, the focus from many Black Cats’ fans on social media was instead aimed towards the Hemel Hempstead-born star’s antics, with one fan calling him a ‘proper s***house’.

Meanwhile, another drew attention to O’Nein’s previous behaviour, where he was given the most obvious yellow card of all time after stopping Bristol city wonderkid Alex Scott from counter-attacking by jumping on his back.

O’Nein has been vitally important to Sunderland so far this season, featuring 32 times in the league with his impressive versatility seeing him deployed mainly at centre-back along with left-back, right-back and centre midfield.
