Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has been tipped to sign former Liverpool team-mate Luis Suarez this month after already pulling off his outlandish attempt to take Philippe Coutinho to the west Midlands. Gerrard took over as Villa boss in November following the departure of Dean Smith.
The former England international has overseen a big improvement in performances since taking the helm and has guided his side away from the relegation places.
He has won four of his eight games in charge after Villa saw off Brighton, Crystal Palace, Leicester and Norwich in the Premier League before Christmas.
Gerrard has now turned his attention to bolstering his squad for the second half of the campaign, with Coutinho joining on loan from Barcelona last Friday.
And former Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor thinks the 41-year-old should now target another Liverpool hero.
“Honestly, when I first saw it I thought ‘nah,’” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT when discussing Coutinho’s arrival. “Then I thought ‘yeah, this is Steven Gerrard.’

“This is no Mickey Mouse ex-footballer. This is Steven Gerrard – one of England and Liverpool’s greatest ever players.
“He is going to have the most amazing relationship with the likes of Coutinho.
“Go and get Suarez next. Us Villa fans, we aren’t stopping.”
Suarez will go down as one of Liverpool’s finest ever strikers – despite staying with the club for just three-and-a-half years.
During his time on Merseyside, the Uruguay international scored 82 goals in 133 games.

He almost single-handedly helped Liverpool win the 2013/14 Premier League title after notching a remarkable 31 goals and 17 assists in 33 league games.
But the Reds ultimately fell short as they dropped five points in their final three games and were pipped at the post by Manchester City.
Suarez left Anfield to join Barcelona a the end of that campaign and went on to enjoy a successful six-year spell in Spain.
The 34-year-old lifted the Champions League trophy at the end of his first season with the Catalan giants and also won the Club World Cup and four La Liga titles.
He ended his Barca career with 195 goals and 113 assists after making 283 appearances for the club.
He moved to Atletico Madrid in 2020 and has continued his good form, helping Diego Simeone’s team win the La Liga title last season.
Suarez was arguably Liverpool’s best player during his time in the northwest and, if the Uruguayan were to move to Villa, he would surely prove that he still has what it takes to excel on the big stage.
The striker is set to leave Atletico when his deal expires at the end of the season, meaning he will be available to sign on a free transfer in the summer.
