Steve Bruce forgets Newcastle woes at Tina Turner Musical and ‘was dancing away’

Steve Bruce put his Newcastle woes to one side and danced the night away at a Tina Turner Musical following their £300million takeover earlier this month.

Bruce's future at St James' Park is in serious doubt amid reports which claim the Magpies' new Saudi Arabian owners are looking to replace him as manager.

It is believed the likes of Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney are on the club's shortlist as they weigh up whether to make a managerial change.

While he insists the new chiefs have advised him to continue with his work as normal, Bruce faces an anxious wait to discover if he will be trusted to take charge of this lucrative project.

Should he receive his P45, the 60-year-old will reportedly be in line for an £8million compensation fee.

And the Daily Mail claim he very much resembled a man on the verge of a multi-million pound payout at a Tina Turner Musical in Newcastle earlier this month.

At the end of the whirlwind week which saw the Premier League finally agree for Mike Ashley to sell his Magpies shares to a consortium led by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, a carefree Bruce was seen out of his seat dancing to some of Tina's greatest hits.

But the Toon gaffer will now be hoping he is simply the best option to lead Bin Salman and co's Tyneside revolution.

His team's performances this season are not exactly helping his cause, with Sunday's 3-2 defeat at home to Tottenham extending their winless start to the campaign.

After the loss, Bruce said: "The new owners have been very respectful.

"I can’t say enough of them the way they have gone about their business for the last week, 10 days but Rome wasn’t built in a day, as they say.

"We have still got our frailties as a team and it’s up to me in the near future anyway to hopefully get better.

"Ever since I have walked into this club of ours it is difficult. I knew how difficult was going to be with the frustrations.

"I will carry on as best I can until I hear otherwise. The owners have conducted themselves respectfully since they came in. As long as I hear otherwise, I will go into work tomorrow."
