Raheem Sterling has revealed that Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic was the player he was most excited to link up with when he moved from Man City to the Blues in the summer.
The forward arrived at Stamford Bridge for a £49m fee after a glittering seven-year spell with City that saw him win 12 trophies, including four Premier League titles in the past five seasons.
In total he scored 131 goals and added 95 assists in 331 games for the club after joining from Liverpool in 2015

Sterling has had a mixed spell since arriving in west London, netting five times in 17 games, although he has been a key man – featuring in all but one of Chelsea’s 18 games so far.
And, speaking ahead of Sunday’s crunch London derby with Arsenal, Sterling spoke about the new teammates he was joining in the summer after his move.
When questioned on who he was most looking forward to playing with, the England star singled out two particular players.
‘Kovacic to be fair (is who I was most looking forward to linking up with at the club),’ he told BT Sport. ‘When we used to play him for City I used to think “Oh my good gosh” – I’m not going to lie.

The England forward revealed he was always impressed with Kovacic when an opponent
‘Of course I always used to love to play with Mason (Mount) for England as well.
‘Because he’s just just a little busy one. He’s just always getting on the ball. But yeah them two.
‘Kova(cic) for sure because there was a couple of times (when I was at City) when he was doing some serious stuff against us.’
Chelsea go into the Sunday lunchtime clash already 10 points behind Mikel Arteta’s side and need to win to keep pace with their London rivals.
They will hope to have Kovacic back after the Croatian midfielder missed Wednesday’s 2-1 Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb through injury.
