Spurs have already spent the £86m Kane money – and there may be no replacement
Tottenham fans hoping for a blockbuster Harry Kane replacement before the end of the transfer window are set to be bitterly disappointed.
Bayern Munich are on the verge of signing the England skipper after having their £86m bid accepted by Tottenham on Wednesday, but in spite of the incoming cash windfall, the north London club might not have enough left in the bank to buy a new superstar striker.
They've already spent a whopping £166m on strengthening Ange Postecoglou's squad and may be forced to wait until next year to splurge on a Kane replacement in order to abide by Financial Fair Play regulations.
The news will come as a major blow for Tottenham who are now facing the prospect of starting the season with just one recognised centre forward in the squad in Richarlison.

The club are however considering several cheap options, with Gent youngster Gift Orban being one of the top targets, as well as Brentford's Ivan Toney who is currently serving a eight-month ban for betting offences, but Richarlison is now firmly expected to start the campaign as Postecoglou's first choice striker should Kane leave.
Of course, there's a still a chance he won't. Before Tottenham accepted Bayern's offer Kane was understood to have been leaning towards staying put, and there's still internal optimism the 30-year-old will reject the move to Germany and extend his contract.

But Tottenham's lack of disposable income demonstrates the importance of not losing Kane for free next summer, and goes some way to explaining why the club have agreed to let him leave.
They've spent the transfer window reinforcing all areas of the pitch, with James Maddison arriving to bolster their midfield, Micky van der Ven coming in to improve the defence, and Guglielmo Vicario arriving to provide competition between the sticks.
On top of that they've also made loan moves for both Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro permanent, at a combined cost of £60m.
However, Spurs were handed a boost late on Wednesday afternoon after reports emerged suggesting Kane was dither on his future and a potential move to Bayern.
