Southampton are considering a move for Hoffenheim winger Jacob Bruun Larsen.
The Danish international, 24, has been identified as a potential summer addition and the south coast club have begun exploring a deal.
Theo Walcott, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Mislav Orsic have all left St Mary’s this summer following Southampton’s relegation creating space in their squad for reinforcements capable of playing out wide.
Bruun Larsen, a direct and speedy winger, started his senior career at Borussia Dortmund before a move to Hoffenheim in 2020.
He went on to enjoy a season on loan at Anderlecht under Vincent Kompany in 2021.

Southampton suffered Premier League relegation after a disappointing campaign last season
Bruun Larsen has played for Denmark from under-16 level right through to the seniors, represented his country in the 2016 Olympics and was included in the team of the tournament at the 2021 under-21 Euros in a further indication of his potential.
Niggling injury limited Larsen’s action last season but he returned towards the end and has continued to prove his fitness ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
The Dane scored one goal in 15 appearances across all competitions last term.
He has just one year left on his current deal a situation that could leave him available for a cut-price fee.
