SOUL OF SPORT: As Manchester City fans invade the pitch to celebrate their fourth Premier League title in five years, KEVIN QUIGLEY captures the mood at the Etihad Stadium amid jubilant scenes

Welcome back to the Soul of Sport. In this episode of the series, KEVIN QUIGLEY was at the Etihad Stadium to take in Manchester City’s fourth Premier League title in five years.

Pep Guardiola’s side eased past Chelsea 1-0 thanks to a confident goal from Argentine forward Julian Alvarez.

City had mathematically wrapped up the title on Saturday as chasing Arsenal in second place dropped more points against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Our man was on hand to capture the best moments of the day using a Nikon Z9 camera, with 70-200mm lens.

Manchester City’s Premier League title party finally began in earnest on Sunday afternoon at the Etihad Stadium

Fans packed into the Mancunian arena to toast their championship-winning team as they prepared to play against Chelsea

This fish and chips shops outside the stadium adorned with pictures of Jack Grealish and Ederson was serving customers

Scores of fans queued outside Mr Macs Chippy to grab themselves some good old-fashioned British food before the match

This lady looked on for Mail Sport photographer Kevin Quigley in front of some sandwiches, apples, biscuits and pork pies

Several City supporters showed off their tattoos of the club’s new badge in a permanent marker of their loyalty to the team

Local street sellers sold T-shirts with ‘We are the Champions’ emblazoned on them in reference to the famous Queen song

The match against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, who had nothing to play for but pride, often had a somewhat processional feel

During the match, hundreds of supporters turned their backs on the action to perform the famous ‘Poznan’ celebration

Despite warnings not to do so, City fans invaded the pitch at the final whistle in their droves to celebrate the title triumph

German midfielder Gundogan, who is out of contract this summer and may leave on a free, held up the trophy to wild cheers

The Premier League trophy is set to be engraved with Manchester City’s name for the fourth time in the last five  years

The last bottle of champagne, sprayed around in joy, surrounded by blue and white ticker tape rounds off Soul of Sport today
