Solskjaer’s cold reaction to Tuchel raging at Man Utd boss
Thomas Tuchel was less than happy to see Manchester United's players surrounding referee Stuart Attwell and the pitch-side VAR monitor during the first half at Stamford Bridge.
A Callum Hudson-Odoi handball in the Chelsea penalty area was being investigated after Edouard Mendy produced a fine stop from a Marcus Rashford free-kick.
Attwell had been told of the possible penalty but wasn't able to do anything about it until there was a pause in play. That came a couple of minutes later.
Having not seen the handball at the time, Attwell was forced to view the incident on the pitch-side monitor.
United's players soon surrounded the official and screen to make their thoughts clear. This, however, is a bookable offence.
And Tuchel was positively incensed by what he saw.
The Blues boss was seen on the touchline verbally remonstrating at Solskjaer, who coldly, seemed to turn around and simply ignore him.
Of course, Tuchel has been there all before with Solskjaer, when United won a penalty for handball against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League knockout stages.
Ironically, though, the United players weren't the only ones surrounding Attwell. Chelsea's stars were also arguing their side to the match referee.
Much to Tuchel's relief the decision was not given.
Although the conclusion baffled all three Sky Sports pundits who believed Hudson-Odoi was lucky to get away with it.
"He's a lucky boy," said Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
"His hand is an unnatural position. He's not pushing the player away. I've seen them given. But you've got to be conistent.
"I'm happy it's not been given, don't get me wrong. I'm happy for football."
