Solskjaer hits back at fans with brilliant response during Man Utd interview
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hilariously hit back at fans who were heckling abuse at him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
Before the weekend, the Norwegian boss was given three games to prove he is the right man to guide the Red Devils to silverware.
In the first of the trio of ‘make or break’ fixtures, United beat Tottenham thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford in a fairly well-polished performance.
Solskjaer changed his system to a 5-2-1-2 and gave his attacking players a strong foundation to build off of.
After the game, some Spurs fans stayed in the stands well beyond the final whistle so that they could hurl a few words at the former United striker, and, clearly in great spirits, the manager took them in his stride.
When attempting to talk to United’s television channel MUTV, Solskjaer began answering a question before shouts began to be aimed in his direction, to which he jokingly called over: “Can I do this interview then you can abuse me after? Hey?”
The under-fire United boss then chuckled to himself before asking for the interview to repeat the question.
The video has taken Twitter by a storm and left many of the United faithful hoping that Solskjaer succeeds due to his likeable nature.

One fan wrote: “I wanted him to succeed so badly, seems like such a nice guy to be around.”
Another added: “Imagine if he turns the season around and lifts a trophy at the end of the season, would be a dream.”
“Fair play to him. He knows people probably hate him so he took it in his stride,” another added, “I remember after the Liverpool game, he was shell shocked yet still went out afterwards for 10 minutes signing things and having photos taken by fans.”

Although his personality won’t win him trophies, the change in system gave the Red Devils a lease of new life.
Having so much defensive stability lifted a lot of weight off of the shoulders of the more creative players, and opting to lead the line with the experienced Ronaldo and Cavani also proved crucial.
It remains to be seen how Solskjaer’s side copes with tough fixtures against Atalanta and Manchester City next week, and whether he survives the chop.
