Vivianne Miedema hits second-half hat-trick to break 100-goal barrier for Arsenal in 4-0 rout of Slavia Prague to qualify for Women’s Champions League with aggregate 7-0 victory

Vivianne Miedema confirmed her place in the pantheon of Arsenal greats after smashing a hat-trick to help Arsenal thump Slavia Prague 4-0 and qualify for the Women’s Champions League group stages.

Having come into the match with a huge safety cushion after winning the first leg 3-0 at home, the Gunners put the tie to bed in style with a second-half blitz that saw Jonas Eidevall’s side scored four goals in 16 minutes. 

Miedema got the ball rolling as she fired home a searing volley just past the hour mark to put Arsenal 1-0 ahead.

Miedema’s hat-trick meant she has now scored 100 goals for Arsenal in just 110 matches

Less than 10 minutes later the 25 scored hers and Arsenal’s second, receiving the ball in the box before tucking it neatly beneath Slavia Prague goal-keeper Olivie Lukasova.

Two minutes after that, Miedema was in dream land, bagging her hat-trick after poking the ball home in the box to take her to 100 Arsenal goals in an astonishing 110 games. 

The game well and truly over, the Gunners found time to score a fourth after Nikita Parris was fouled in the penalty area. Kim Little made no mistake from the spot. 

Arsenal breezed through to the Champions League with a 7-0 aggregate win and a fifth victory in five games for new manager Eidevall. 

The Gunners join Chelsea in the group stages, but Manchester City were knocked out once again by Real Madrid.
