Sky Sports reporter savages Joelinton to his face despite Man Utd masterclass
Sky Sports’ post-match interviewer savaged Newcastle star Joelinton despite his man of the match performance in the Magpies’ draw against Manchester United.
Eddie Howe’s men entered the game having won just once in the Premier League, but were the better team at St James’ Park on Monday night.
Allan Saint-Maximin gave them the lead with a stunning goal after he cut inside and fired past David de Gea as the Red Devils struggled badly to create clear-cut chances.
They were finally rescued by Edinson Cavani, who had come on as a half-time substitute, who swept home to rescue a point for Ralf Rangnick’s dreadful visitors.
Joelinton was one of the Newcastle players who impressed, with the Brazilian having been moved into central midfield since Howe took charge.
It is a change that has worked out remarkably well, with Joelinton winning man of the match from Sky Sports commentator Don Goodman for his display against United.
The 25-year-old completed 25 of his 33 passes, created three chances and won possession back 11 times.
But not everyone has been so impressed by Joelinton since he joined Newcastle, with the Sky Sports post-match interviewer savaging the Magpies star to his face.

“Joelinton, can I be completely honest? I didn’t realise you were that good,” he said when interviewing the Brazilian.
Joelinton laughed off that comment before insisting that his recent performances have simply been down to hard work.
“It’s a new position for me. I always try to give everything for the team and today I gave everything, try to help my team, to see the three points,” he said.
“Unlucky result but like Long [Sean Longstaff] said I have to be proud with the game and keep going. It’s a hard game, we have to take the positive things and look forward for the next game.”

His team-mate Sean Longstaff was left fuming by the comment from the interviewer and hit back at his ‘disrespect’.
“If you ask anyone in the dressing room, we all know he’s that good regardless of what the outside people say,” Longstaff said.
“The disrespect he gets is a disgrace to be honest. I can honestly say every day in training, he’s the best player.
“Everyone rates him so highly. I’m so, so happy for him to be honest. Some of the noise from outside is really disrespectful.”
