Sky Sports’ ‘bias’ to Leeds leaves viewers fuming at coverage in Arsenal defeat
Sky Sports viewers were left fuming at the broadcaster and accused them of showing bias towards Leeds – despite losing to Arsenal.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have earned praise throughout the season for their "entertaining" performances.
But they came away from London with a 4-2 defeat, slipping back into the bottom half of the table.
While the Whites dominated possession and had more passes, they had less shots on goal than the Gunners and made nine more fouls.
It saw them go into half time 3-0 down, letting one through early in the second half before grabbing two consolation strikes.
But Sky Sports put a more positive spin on Leeds’ defeat.
Speaking at full time, presenter David Jones praised Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his hat-trick before adding: “But wasn’t that second half all about Leeds United and the spirit they’ve brought to the Premier League?
“Despite being 4-0 down, they did not give up and kept on playing the same way.”
While Leeds were left hanging their heads in defeat, viewers believed Sky Sports painted a different picture at full time.
“As if Sky just said Leeds are the new entertainers,” one said.
“The Bielsa hype has officially gone nuclear.”
Another commented: “Post-match on Sky is a Leeds love-in again. Arsenal fans probably fuming.”
While a Gunners supporter held nothing back, with: “Did we just win that game? Listening to Sky Sports, you’d think Leeds won. W*****s.”

And a fourth added: “This whole loving for Leeds is completely ridiculous.
“If you turned Sky Sports on right now, you would think Leeds beat Arsenal today.”
A fifth decided to take drastic action, with: “I turned Sky off because I didn’t want to hear the inevitable fawning over Leeds, despite the fact they were 4-0 down.”
With a sixth saying: “Leeds must have some sort of contract with Sky – they’re so bias it’s unreal.”
Others took aim at Jones, commenting: “Classic Sky Sports – not forgetting Auba bagged a hat-trick. Shambles.”
Another added: “‘Wasn’t the second half about Leeds’, asks the man in the Sky studio after they’ve just been played off the park.”
And a final viewer simply said: “Christ, am I watching Sky or LUTV?”
