Sir Alex Ferguson ripped into Man Utd star for how he spoke to car saleswoman

Sir Alex Ferguson once ripped into Manchester United star Ben Foster after he talked down to a club representative over the phone.

Known for his all-knowing presence at Old Trafford, Ferguson is well publicised with having managed every single aspect of the club during his tenure.

The vociferous Scotsman won 13 Premier League titles, FA Cups and two Champions League crowns during his 27-year stay in Manchester and is widely regarded as the club's greatest ever manager.

A fierce competitor, Ferguson is famed for the hairdryer treatments he would afford players for poor performances.

But ex-United star Foster recalls one instance he received a dressing down for an off-field matter.

"I remember once, I had ordered a new car for my wife and the car hadn't arrived on time," Foster recalled on his TikTok channel.

"So, I rung them up. And I didn't give them a bit, but I basically said to them 'the car's supposed to be here. We've already got rid of the old car. We haven't got a car. We're without a car. It's not good enough.'

"But the woman that I was speaking to was the Audi rep for Manchester United.

"So, she had a relationship with everybody at Man United including the manager.

"Word must have got back. I didn't have a go at her, I swear on my life I didn't. I just literally said 'you've killed us, you've absolutely killed us. We haven't got a car. We've just had a baby. We haven't got a car.
