Simone Inzaghi red-faced as Inter Milan boss embarrassingly slips down stairs

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi was left red in the face after slipping down the icy San Siro stairs in his side’s 4-0 drubbing of Cagliari.

The 45-year-old was heading down towards the tunnel when he slipped and tumbled onto the floor, before being helped up by a member of his coaching staff.

Luckily, Inzaghi appeared unhurt by the fall and continued his walk to the dressing room following an emphatic win in Serie A.

There were no slip ups for the Nerazzurri in what turned out to be a comprehensive victory on the night, securing a one-point lead atop the league table in their bid to defend last season’s title.

Inter impressed from start to finish as Lautaro Martinez’s 29th minute opener initially put them ahead going into half-time.

They continued their domination after the break with a total of 15 shots on target, which paid off as three more were scored by Martinez, Alexis Sanchez and Hakan Calhanoglu.

The best of the bunch were Sanchez’s stunning volley courtesy of a brilliant Nicolo Barella assist and Calhanoglu’s screamer from outside the box.

And Inzaghi would have left the San Siro feeling pleased with his side’s reaction following a poor 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid during the week.

Speaking to DAZN as reported by Football Italia, Inzaghi said: "The lads did really well. I had asked for concentration and focus, as I saw this weekend so many big clubs struggle after European games.
