Sick fans cash in on Pele’s death by flogging memorabilia for over £20k a piece

Football fans are cashing in on Pele's death by flogging signed memorabilia for up to £20,000.

The footy legend died aged 82 yesterday (29 November), devastating fans across the world. Brazil has declared three days of national mourning for Pele – who has scored a world record of 1,281 goals.

As tributes pour in for the player, who has been dubbed the greatest footballer of all time some fans have listed their signed memorabilia for sale on eBay.

Since his passing, Pele's autograph has been listed for thousands of pounds. One fan has even listed a signed football on the site for a whopping £20,000

The pricey keepsake has the Brazilian's iconic signature across the centre of a green and yellow ball. The seller also posted images of himself clutching the ball alongside Pele in person to prove its authenticity.

The listing reads, "You won't find another item quite like this. I never thought I'd be parting with this ‘one of a kind’ item, but its being sold to fund my next, big inspirational project.

"Pele signed this for me himself.

Despite the eye-watering price, the football has been "watched" by three potential buyers in the last 24 hours. Someone else also posted an 'authentic' souvenir programme repping Pele's signature for £9,995.

Another listing of a signed football was also recently posted with a starting bid of £1,450. The post shows a replica match ball of the Germany 2006 World Cup which was signed by Pele and other players.

Other fans have listed signed Brazil shirts for up to £3,000 alongside a certificate of authentication. One seller even listed a 1966 world cup book signed by the Brazilian legend for £3,000.
