Sheikh Jassim’s Man Utd takeover ‘frustration’ as Glazers set to stick around
Rashford 'turned off TV' after Man City won Champions League final
Just when the end looked in sight, the draining Manchester United takeover saga could have months left in it. Mixed reports have added to uncertainty among the fan base, with the Glazers yet to inform Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani or Sir Jim Ratcliffe of the successful party.
There was an explosion of excitement on Thursday when it was claimed that Sheikh Jassim was negotiating exclusivity with the Glazer family and the Raine Group.
However, later reports poured cold water on that suggestion, indicating that Ratcliffe remained the favourite to buy United.
Most worrying for supporters, the Glazers are said to be likely in control at the start of next season due to the lengthy approval process.
That’s despite the takeover saga starting in November, with an initial hope that it would be completed by March.
Express Sport provides all the latest United takeover news and views as the Glazers make Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe wait.

Glazers sticking around
The Glazers could STILL be in control at Manchester United when the new season starts in mid-August, according to reports.
The Times claim that the Glazers are close to announcing their preferred bidder.
However, the approval process for Sheikh Jassim or Sir Jim Ratcliffe will take eight to 12 weeks.
It incredibly means that the seven-month takeover process is set to drag into the new campaign.
The report adds that the situation won’t affect Erik ten Hag’s summer transfer plans.
