Sheikh Jassim to complete deal ‘this month’ as Man Utd takeover saga nears end
Man Utd boss Ten Hag insists he's 'said everything' on Sancho saga
Manchester United are in the midst of the club’s worst-ever start to a Premier League season as doom and gloom looms over Erik ten Hag’s reign. But reports at the end of August claim that those hoping for a takeover to start a new exciting era at Old Trafford will soon be in luck.
November would mark one year since the Glazer family announced a strategic review seeking alternative investment, including a potential sale.
But the jarring process may not reach that point, with Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani reportedly set to complete a takeover this month.
According to The Sun in August, Sheikh Jassim was in position to seal a £6billion deal to buy United by mid-October.
The report claimed that Sheikh Jassim had beaten competition from British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and that his Qatari camp was completing their due diligence ahead of taking control.
The Glazers were said to have been warned of the potential implications of staying put in M16, facing heightened backlash from the fanbase as protests at Old Trafford continue.
However, the Sun added that an announcement could’ve come as early as September, but that didn’t arrive amid ongoing doubts over the Glazers’ intentions to sell.

Sheikh Jassim has vowed to clear the debt that has accumulated at United under the Glazer regime to save any further fees and prevent taking any dividend payments.
The latter is a major source of discontent toward the unpopular American owners, who have overseen a gross debt worth £725million since their controversial £800m takeover in 2005.
United’s debt is currently the highest it has been since 2010, but there has been little indication that a Glazers exit was imminent outside of The Sun’s bold report.
Sheikh Jassim also plans to invest heavily in the redevelopment of Old Trafford and the club’s Carrington training facilities if he is successful in his pursuit.

More recent reports from elsewhere claim that Ratcliffe firmly remains in the frame and is restructuring his latest offer to move closer to the Glazers’ demands.
There are also minority investment options still on the table for the Glazers if they ultimately opt to retain control at Old Trafford.
But The Sun’s report from around six weeks ago suggests that Sheikh Jassim has come out on top and will soon be confirmed as United’s new owner.
Such news would be a welcome boost for a large section of the fanbase amid continued struggles on the pitch.
