Sergio Reguilon reacts to Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp’s fiery on-air clash
Sergio Reguilon has responded to Roy Keane's fiery debate with Jamie Redknapp in which the Irishman claimed Tottenham had "so many average players".
Tottenham have endured a poor run of form since they topped the Premier League back in December.
Jose Mourinho's side got back to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Burnley.
But before the contest Keane and Redknapp certainly didn't see eye to eye when it came to their assessment of Tottenham
Keane said: " Tottenham have got so many average players. We talk about the pressure Spurs are under to get in the top four but if you take Kane and Son out of that team they are average."
Redknapp responded by saying: "I don't think it's an average team or an average squad, it's full of internationals.
"If you look at the back four, Dier plays for England, Sanchez plays for Colombia, Alderweireld plays for the No.1 team in the world…"
Keane then interrupted: "Playing for your country doesn't make you a good player."
The topic then got on to Reguilon, who Redknapp claimed was a "good left-back".
Keane swiftly responded by saying: "Is that why Real Madrid let him go? Why did Real Madrid let him go?"
Redknapp furiously responded: "Does that matter? Just because Real Madrid let him go that doesn't make him a good player? He's a fantastic left-back!"
Keane did eventually concede that the Spaniard was a talented player.
And the left-back took to Twitter and replied to a video post of the argument with a popular GIF of Michael Jackson eating popcorn.
Reguilon made the move from Los Blancos in the summer for £28m – although the Spanish club retain a buy-back clause in 2022.
