Sergio Ramos’ dad is a Man Utd fan and won’t be against transfer after Real exit
Sergio Ramos is set to leave Real Madrid this summer after 16 years at the club – and his dad will be hoping he joins Manchester United next.
Madrid confirmed on Wednesday that Ramos will be waving goodbye upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the month, having failed to reach an agreement with club president Florentino Perez over an extension.
Reports suggest the 35-year-old wanted to sign a new two-year deal at the Bernabeu, but Perez was only prepared to offer him another 12 months.
As a result, he is now due to depart Los Blancos when his contract runs out on June 30.
Talk has now turned to where Ramos will choose to go next, with the likes of United, Manchester City, Paris St-Germain and Juventus said to be eyeing up a free move.
However, if the veteran centre-back listens to his father this summer, he may very well end up at Old Trafford next season.

Ramos revealed before a Champions League meeting between United and Real back in 2013 that his dad, Jose Maria, was a fan of the Premier League club.
He said in an interview with The Times: "My dad used to watch a lot of [English] football and he would say to me when I was a kid: 'So and so is playing today. You have to watch this player or that player'."
When asked which team his dad supported, Ramos replied: "United. My family are Sevilla fans but he always had a soft spot for Manchester United."
He then added: "I was pleased to get United. If you look at the history and the philosophy they transmit they are to the Premier League what Madrid are in Spain. The ideals that they drum into their players are similar."
