‘Do you want us to get a doctor?’: Sergio Aguero suffers another heart scare while streaming live on Twitch… 17 months after a similar incident on the pitch forced the ex-Man City star to retire

Sergio Aguero suffered a heart arrhythmia live during a Twitch stream on Wednesday night.

The Man City and Argentina legend was forced to hang up his boots in December 2021 after a heart scare while playing for Barcelona two months prior.

Aguero has regularly been seen streaming on Twitch since he was forced into an early retirement.

However, it was during his stream last night, where there was a brief scare which reminded people why he is no longer playing football.

During the stream Aguero paused for a moment and put his hand on his chest.

Aguero (pictured with girlfriend Sofia Calzetti) was advised to retire for his health to prevent further risk of suffering heart issues while playing, and he was fitted with a pacemaker

Aguero was accompanied for the stream by Ibai Llanos – one of the biggest streamers in Spain.

Llanos noticing Aguero’s brief pause and movement to hold his chest, asked: ‘What’s up, man?’

Aguero responded: ‘I think… I think… I just had a mini-arrhythmia.’

When Llanos asked him if they needed to go see a doctor, Aguero said: ‘No, no. Because I have a chip and the famous chip will detect it and send a signal.’

Aguero had to come off before half-time in a home game against Alaves at the end of October with chest discomfort, and was subsequently diagnosed with heart arrhythmia and originally told to rest for three months.

It was then determined that he must retire for his health to prevent further risk of similar events taking place.

He was fitted with a pacemaker and confirmed his retirement in an emotional press conference at the Nou Camp – just months after he had joined Barcelona following his legendary stint at Man City.

Aguero sobbed uncontrollably as he had to to reveal the news, with Man City coach Guardiola flying in especially for the announcement.

Aguero now regularly streams and was seen celebrating Argentina’s World Cup winning squad after their dramatic penalty shootout victory over France in the final back in December

As well as a regular presence on Twitch, the 34-year-old was a special guest at the World Cup final where he was seen celebrating with Lionel Messi and the rest of Argentina’s triumphant squad.

Llanos, who was co-presenting the stream started to gain his popularity through streaming on Twitch and his participation in eSports.

He has built a massive online following, with more than 9 million subscribers on YouTube, 11 million on Twitch and 7.6 million on Instagram.

His popularity has allowed him to interview athletes, who aren’t normally known for liking to speak to the media including Aguero and Gerard Pique.

Llanos famously interviewed Messi on the day that he was presented as a new signing for Paris Saint-Germain in a stream which was followed by more than 300,000 followers.
