Scholes’s son calls Liam Gallagher a c*** in savage reply over Man Utd protests

Arron Scholes, son of Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, has hit back at Liam Gallagher over his comments about United fans protesting against the Glazer family's ownership of the club.

Ahead of the Red Devils' Premier League clash with rivals Liverpool, supporters stormed Old Trafford and managed to gain access to the pitch.

As a result, the game was postponed and it will be rescheduled for a later date.

Taking to Twitter, Manchester City fan Gallagher slammed United supporters in a string of posts, calling for the game to either be played or for Liverpool to be awarded the three points.

Gallagher also suggested the protest would not have occured if United were "about to win the title", writing: "If Utd were about to win the title would they have done what they’ve done would they f***".

Scholes then replied to Gallagher, writing: "City are about to win the title and you can’t stop tweeting about united you sad c***"

In an official statement, United said: "Following discussion between the Police, The Premier League, Trafford Council and the clubs, our match against Liverpool has been postponed due to safety and security considerations around the protest today.

"Discussions will now take place with the Premier League on a revised date for the fixture.

"Our fans are passionate about Manchester United, and we completely acknowledge the right to free expression and peaceful protest.

"However, we regret the disruption to the team and actions which put other fans, staff, and the police in danger. We thank the police for their support and will assist them in any subsequent investigations."

A separate statement from the Premier League read: "Following the security breach at Old Trafford, the Manchester United v Liverpool game has been postponed.

"This is a collective decision from the police, both clubs, the Premier League and local authorities.

"The security and safety of everyone at Old Trafford remains of paramount importance.
