San Marino account tweets "we scored a f***ing goal" after rare milestone
San Marino’s Twitter unoffcial account went berserk after the team scored a goal in a friendly match.
A fan account dedicated to the side ranked 210th out of 210 countries by FIFA, wrote a series of expletives as the country scored for the first team in three years against Lithuania on Friday. Despite losing 2-1 at the San Marino Stadium in a friendly match, their tweet read: “WE SCORED A F****** GOAL WE SCORED A GOAAAAAALLLLLLL WE DID IT WE DID IT.”
In subsequent tweets, they said: “I'm not joking when I say that we can still draw tonight. San Marino is absolutely dominating the second half. Imagine the scenes if we score a second goal. At full time the account, which has over 20 followers, wrote: “I'm so proud of our team and the new manager Constantini. We scored a goal, we won the second half and most of all did we win the hearts of thousands of football fans around the world. 2022 is going to be our year. Forza Titani!
Other tweets included: “"WHKEOEKSLWJDBFKXKSLWJWNDNDNMZKSMWLWLW.”

Indeed, the country was trailing 2-0 at half-time, but Fabrizio Constantini's side responded in the second period, with Filippo Fabbri getting on the scoresheet. The goalscorer is a 20-year-old defender who plays in Italy's fourth-tier Serie D, heightening the sense of achievement by the minnows.
England beat San Marino 10-0 in November to earn their place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Three Lions earned double figures for the first time since 1964, with Harry Kane netting himself four goals. The scoreline raised questions as to whether such matches should go ahead and if there was a better way to schedule matches between the major nations and the minnows.
