Saint-Maximin has fans in stitches over dance moves while toying with opponent
Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin has left fans in hysterics after showcasing his silky dance moves during the Magpies' 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Miguel Almiron was the hero for Newcastle, who clinched their sixth successive home league win to quash any lingering relegation fears. The Toon Army are now just outside the top half of the Premier League table on goal difference after their stunning resurgence under Eddie Howe, who arrived when Newcastle were in the relegation zone.
But it's Saint-Maximin who has pinched the headlines from the crunch clash with the Eagles after his fancy footwork went viral. The Magpies talisman was captured bamboozling Palace players with some rapid stepovers before nonchalantly passing the ball backwards – and fans wasted no time in flocking to social media to lap up Saint-Maximin's showboating.
One fan, who could hardly hide his delight, posted: "I honestly love this guy to bits," while another shared his disbelief at Saint-Maximin's actions by posting: "There’s no f***ing way he did this lmfao."
Another fan quipped that the Newcastle star was out to impress, posting: "When your Mrs comes down to watch you play," while another fan cheekily compared his footwork to drunken dancefloor antics, posting: "When you’ve had too many shandies and you hit the dance floor."
Saint-Maximin has arguably been Newcastle's most influential player in recent seasons, but an influx of new arrivals in January after the Magpies were taken over in a £305million deal has helped the club to secure their Premier League status with a handful of games to spare – a fear that looked unlikely back in October.

However, Newcastle's upturn in form hasn't prevented Saint-Maximin from being linked with a summer exit from St James Park'. The £20m man has attracted suitors from around Europe in the past but has so far resisted the temptation to quit the Premier League.
It remains to be seen if that will change at the end of the season – regardless of whether or not Newcastle are in a position to use their new wealth to push on. Saint Maximin admitted he'll make a decision on his future at the end of the season, but highlighted the fact that he's surprise people by staying at the club amid interest before because of his "love" for the club and the supporters.
Saint-Maximin told Chronicle Live: "To be honest every year people think I am going to leave. And finally I stay. I stayed because I love the club and love the supporters. I will see what is happening and what is the best for my future. At this time, I really want to be focused. And after the season I will decide what I will do."
