  • The winger won the Bundesliga title with Bayern but lacked consistency

Sadio Mane has admitted that he wishes things could have gone differently for him at Bayern Munich as he closes in on a move to Al-Nassr.

Mane has arrived in Dubai to undergo the first part of his medical ahead of signing a contract with the Saudi Arabian side that will run until 2027.

The winger is set to join Al-Nassr in a £34million deal and will earn £650,000-a-week.

Mane joined Bayern from Liverpool last year and, although he won the Bundesliga title, the move didn’t go entirely to plan.

Mane told Sky Sports: ‘Leaving FC Bayern hurts me. I would have wished for a different ending. I know that I could have helped the team this season. I wanted to prove it to everyone this season. Nevertheless, I only wish the club and the fans the best for the future.’

Mane, who lacked consistency during his time at Bayern, is set to sign for Al-Nassr

During his time at Bayern, Mane suffered an injury that meant that he couldn’t represent Senegal at the World Cup in Qatar.

In April Mane was suspended and fined by Bayern after reports that he punched team-mate Leroy Sane in the dressing room following a defeat to Manchester City.

In total Mane made 38 appearances for Bayern and scored 12 goals, while he provided six assists.

Mane enjoyed a hugely successful spell at Liverpool after joining from Southampton in 2016.

He scored 120 goals in 269 games for Liverpool and won the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and the League Cup as well as the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.

After joining Al-Nassr, Mane is set to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo as part of what is likely to be a devastating attack.
