Ryan Reynolds proves love for Notts County after 120th minute ‘dream moment’

Ryan Reynolds has proved his love for non-league football after he retweeted Notts County's heart-stopping play-off winner.

Wrexham and Notts have been involved in a nip-and-tuck battle this season, with the Red Dragons ultimately proving the better side. Notts had to enter the lottery of the playoff despite finishing on 107 points, a total that would have won them the title in any other season.

And after finishing themselves 2-0 down to Boreham Wood, Notts battled back with a 97th-minute equaliser. Notts were then able to repeat the feat in extra-time, when they netted a goal in the 120th minute to keep their Football League hopes alive.

Reynolds retweeted the video of the winner on Twitter – days after he celebrated the title with Wrexham. And after the Red Dragons booked their spot in League Two, Reynolds said: "I’m not sure I can actually process what happened tonight.

"I’m a little speechless. One thing that has been running through my head is people who asked ‘Why Wrexham?’. This is why. What is happening now is why Wrexham.

“Huge credit to Boreham Wood tonight. Also, this entire story, the reason we’re sitting on the edge of our seats right now is because Notts County is so damn good as well. They deserve to go up.

“It’s something Rob and I feel quite strongly about. We are rooting for Notts County. We want to see them go up to League Two and face them next year. They’re incredible.”

Notts now have one game to make their football league return, and Wembley awaits them on 13 May.
