Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney set to make Wrexham debuts as season heats up
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are set to make their Wrexham debuts in a charity tournament two years after completing their takeover of the oldest club in Wales.
The Canadian and American Hollywood actors will lace up their boots this summer as the respective ages of 46 and 45 in a $1million (£830,000) charity tournament.
Appropriately named The Soccer Tournament, a new seven-a-side competition will include 32 teams in Northern California in June, with nine teams now signed up including Wrexham.

With one team being led by former Fulham and Tottenham forward Clint Dempsey, another will include a group of United States icons from the women's national side.
Former Premier League midfielder, now Wrexham player-coach David Jones will join the duo alongside a trio of ex-players in Mark Carrington, Shaun Pearson and Paul Rutherford, with club advisor Shaun Harvey releasing a statement.
Harvey said: "We look forward to debuting in the US with a legends team and the ambition of winning the tournament.

“Should we be successful, $500,000 of the prize money will be used to enhance the club's work in the local community. Wrexham AFC is more than just a first team.
"It represents the people of North Wales and this tournament will allow us to incorporate former players of the club like we have never been able to do before.”
The tournament will kick-off after the National League season comes to an end, with Wrexham battling Notts Country for the only automatic promotion place, sitting five points behind but with two games in hand as it stands.
It's fair to say that fans have been left excited but a tad confused on social media, one user replied: "Right, which of Rob or Ryan is getting stuck in goal for this tournament?"
A second said: "Wait, Ryan and Rob are playing? Didn't see that one coming!"
A third pointed out: Just when I thought that @VancityReynolds was training hard for Deadpool.. I realise he’s actually preparing for the tournament in June!"
