Ryan Gravenberch responds to Liverpool's transfer approach
Ryan Gravenberch is ‘enthusiastic’ over a potential move to Liverpool this summer, according to reports.
Liverpool are looking to strengthen Jurgen Klopp’s midfield options in the summer transfer window and Gravenberch has been identified as one of the club’s priority targets.
It’s understood that Liverpool have already registered their interest with the 20-year-old’s agent, while last week, the Premier League club held talks with the midfielder’s father.
According to Sky Sports, Gravenberch has given a positive response to Liverpool’s interest following the club’s ‘strong pitch’.
However, the report also suggests that Liverpool could face competition from Manchester United as Erik ten Hag checked on the availability of the former Ajax midfielder in the January transfer window before the signing of Marcel Sabitzer.
Sky Sports also claim that Bayern would be open to selling Gravenberch this summer as the German club are expected to complete a deal for RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer.
Ajax also have a seven-and-a-half per cent sell-on clause as part of their agreement with Bayern.
Gravenberch joined Bayern in a €18.5 million (£16m) deal from Ajax last summer but has been unable to establish himself as a regular since his move to the Bundesliga.
The 20-year-old has started just three games for Bayern this season and his lack of playing time saw him miss out on a place in Netherlands’ World Cup squad at the end of 2022.
