Wolves star Ruben Neves has aimed a savage dig at Arsenal for their celebrations in the wake of their win over his side on Thursday night.

The midfielder played all 90 minutes as the Gunners claimed the three points from their trip to Molineux, moving them above Manchester United in the Premier League table.

Arsenal defender Gabriel scored the only goal of the game after 25 minutes when he bundled in Alexandre Lacazette's flick-on.

The visitors were also forced to play with 10 men for the final 20 minutes of the game, with Gabriel Martinelli sent off after committing two bookable offences within five seconds.

Despite their one-man advantage during that period, Wolves were unable to find a way past Aaron Ramsdale in the Arsenal goal.

When Michael Oliver blew the final whistle the Gunners players celebrated wildly, something that Neves has taken issue with.

Speaking in his post-match interview, the Portuguese star aimed a savage dig at the visitors for the manner of their celebrations, claiming it shows the level they are on.

“We did well but we are struggling to score goals and conceding a lot on set-pieces,” Neves said.

“With their goal there is some doubt about whether it was a foul or not but that's football. We are used to these decisions.

“We need to improve a lot on scoring goals because we are creating chances but we're not good enough in that part of the game.

“I can accept the decision about their goal but in some games they give it and in some games they don't. They need to do the same decisions in every game because it's frustrating for us.

“We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are. I didn't see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years – it was like they won the league.”

Wolves now sit eighth in the top-flight, but have the chance to rise above Tottenham when they travel to Antonio Conte’s men on Sunday.
