Roy Keane was not impressed with Manchester United after their 0-0 draw against Arsenal in north London.

The Red Devils allowed rivals Manchester City to move four points clear with a game in hand as they could not find a way past Mikel Arteta’s side.

It means that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have claimed just one point from a potential six this week after losing 2-1 to Sheffield Unite d at home.

This result also means that the title-chasers have also failed to secure a win against any of the Big Six sides this season.

And Keane, who won seven Premier League titles and a treble at Old Trafford, was left baffled that his former side could not secure a win.

Speaking about United's lack of belief, the 49-year-old said: "I'm scratching my head with United.

“The worry for me, watching them today, was they almost lacked the belief that they could go and win the game. It's Man United.

“You're looking at Arsenal who are missing a few players. I know that doesn't guarantee you to win football matches.

“The game was there for the taking. Imagine playing for Manchester United and having a lack of belief that you can go and win a game of football.”

Keane went on to say that the result also showed a lack of intensity in United.

"Cavani obviously has got to score. Overall, the performance lacked that intensity," he added.

“We can make excuses, that Sheffield United have slipped up, and people talking about no supporters at stadiums, lots of fixtures.

“But a real lack of quality from Man United. And a real lack of conviction and desire to take the game to Arsenal. Arsenal certainly deserved a draw at least.”

With City moving clear, the former midfielder highlighted that it was a missed opportunity in north London.

Keane continued: "There's different pressure. Where they were the last few months. They were getting the plaudits but they were just sneaking up the table.

“But they got into the good habit of winning football matches, even if they weren't playing great, particularly away from home on the counter attack.

“But all of a sudden in the last three or four weeks when they've got to the top."

Keane then said: "All of a sudden people are saying 'can you win the league, can you compete with Man City’.

“And it looks like the players have got a bit, almost frightened of the challenge. It's as if they've gone 'I don't think we're ready for that yet'. It seems to be [they're happy with second]."

While Keane acknowledged the impact of the Sheffield loss, with: "Judging by their last few performances. You can maybe forgive them a little bit for the Sheffield United loss, that can happen. We say it can happen; if you turn up with a bad attitude it is going to happen."
