Roy Keane tells fans to give Jadon Sancho a "break" after slow Man Utd start
Manchester United hero Roy Keane has defended Jadon Sancho following a lacklustre start to life in the Premier League following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund.
The 21-year-old has started two of their five fixtures in the league under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and only twice played more than 30 minutes from his five appearances.
Before playing the last 17 minutes of their win over West Ham at the weekend, Sancho was brought off before half-time of their Champions League clash against Young Boys following Aaron Wan-Bissaka's red card.
While some may have been feeling disappointed by his limited game-time so far, Keane has backed the youngster to come good as long as he is given time to settle.
"He'll be fine." the former United skipper said on Sky Sports.
Adding: "He's been at the club what, two months. There's been a lot of changes, new players coming to the club – give the kid a break.
"He's still learning his trade, he's still a young player, big expectations.
"He's come to a new club where he's certainly not going to be star man, he'll be down the pecking order and he's got to adapt to all that. Give him a chance."

With Micah Richards adding: "It's not worked out for Sancho how we all hoped. Some players settle in straight away and some people take time. He knows he can do better, so far.
"At Dortmund his goals and assists were so pivotal but now, Man United is a different level.
"You're not just the main player in the team but as long as he keeps working hard, finds a bit of confidence, he can be a key player."
Solskjaer told Sky Sports before the win over West Ham: "Both with Raphael Varane and Cristiano (Ronaldo) coming in, that takes a little bit of pressure off a young man.
"He's 21, he's learning the game, he's learning how we train, he's learning how we play, he's learning the Premier League, but he's come in hungry to learn.
"We knew his talent, and we signed him with the thought that we are going to have a top forward here for the next 10 or 12 years.
"Jadon's finding his feet, it's unfortunate that he fell ill just when he was going to come in, so he was out, and he lost a bit of pre-season. But he is working hard and he will be good."
