Roy Keane sends followers into hysterics with Valentine’s Day post on Instagram
Roy Keane has only been on Instagram for a few days, but the Manchester United legend is already sending his followers into hysterics.
Throughout his career as a player, a manager and now a pundit, Keane has never been one for mincing his words.
The former United captain is well known for his brutal, straight-talking approach, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp the most recent victim of his ruthless analysis on punditry duty for Sky Sports.
However, while he is undoubtedly one of the most fearsome characters in Premier League history, deep down Keane clearly has a sense of humour too…
The 49-year-old has left fans in stitches after creating an Instagram account over the weekend, with his post on Valentine’s Day a hilarious example of his funny side.
Keane posted a picture which shows him being strangled by another player during his early days at Nottingham Forest and wrote the caption: “Don’t forget to show some love today”.
He has already amassed a following of over one million people on Instagram, and several of them took to the comments to praise him for a brilliant start to life on the social-media platform.
Burnley defender Phil Bardsley put a series of laughing emojis and then wrote: “brilliant”.
Arsenal hero Ian Wright said: “Great post! Didn’t think Bish (opponent) had this in him!!! Gone way up in my estimation *laughing emojis*”.

Keane’s decision to venture into the world of social media comes amid his hilarious new bromance with former Manchester City defender Micah Richards, with the pair forming an unexpected comedy double act while on Sky Sports duty in recent months.
Richards recently uploaded a video in which he shows the ex-United midfielder a TikTok video of his FIFA 21 character dancing around the pitch, and his stone-cold reaction was priceless.
