Roy Keane & Jamie Redknapp make final top four prediction
Roy Keane and Jamie Redknapp believe Manchester United will finish in the top four at the expense of Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham.
The Red Devils’ win against the Hammers on Saturday helped Ralf Rangnick’s side into the Champions League qualifying positions for the first time since mid-October.
Spurs and Arsenal both squandered opportunities to finish the weekend in the top four, but Antonio Conte’s side lost 2-0 to Chelsea while the Gunners could only manage a 0-0 draw against Burnley.
Speaking after Spurs’ defeat at Stamford Bridge, Redknapp and Keane were in agreement that the Red Devils are now favourites to finish in the top four alongside Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
‘I think Manchester United are the favourites, I do,’ said Redknapp after Chelsea’s win against Spurs.
‘I think Arsenal seem to be running out of steam. Poor result in midweek [against Liverpool], poor result against Burnley today.
‘But Tottenham with those games in hand as well, if they can get a couple of players in then they’re going to be in the mix.
‘But put it this way if Manchester United with their squad should finish in the top four. If they don’t then that’s another poor season for them.
‘They finished second last year and they’ve got to finish in the top four. ‘
When Keane was asked if United are going to finish fourth, he simply replied: ‘Without a doubt. Strength in depth.’
Despite their defeat in west London, Spurs are still in a strong position given they have two games in hand on United.
They trail Ralf Rangnick’s side by two points and currently sit in seventh, behind rivals Arsenal and West Ham.
Wolves are unbeaten in 2022 and trail United by four points, albeit with a game in hand.
