Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira put rivalry aside and agree on Cristiano Ronaldo

Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira put their past differences aside and agreed upon Cristiano Ronaldo’s career as they discussed the Portuguese star on ITV.

Ahead of Belgium’s second round clash with Portugal at Euro 2020, the former Manchester United and Arsenal midfielders discussed Ronaldo.

Keane and Viera had a long rivalry when they played for their respective clubs and had plenty of arguments too, but they put that to the side today and heaped praise on Ronaldo.

"You talk about Ronaldo, the clubs he has played for, the trophies he has won, he is the most intelligent player I have played with in my career,” Keane said.

"His brain to me, the intelligence of the man, the way he has done it at club level in different countries, and for his country too, for me is the cleverest player ever."

Viera agreed with him, praising his ability to step up in big moments.

"He has shown it in World Cups and European Championships, but he always shows that desire to score more, he is never satisfied.

"The desire, the determination, the work that he has put in throughout his career is a fantastic message to send out to any young players that want to play professional football."
