It adds that Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder, Sunderland’s Alex Neil and ex-Bolton, West Ham and Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce are also on the radar of Burnley chairman Alan Pace.

The Rams had been docked a total of 21 points due to their crippling financial situation and entering administration.
Rooney’s side fought valiantly to stay up nonetheless and the ex-Everton player – who was linked with the Toffees job earlier this year before Frank Lampard’s appointment – admitted he was ‘proud’ of his side despite their relegation.
He also spoke outside the training ground with fans, signaling his ‘plan to get Derby back’ ahead of their campaign in League One next season.
