Ronaldo would say ‘Messi doesn’t look like me’ while standing naked in mirror
Cristiano Ronaldo stand naked in front of a mirror and say 'Lionel Messi doesn't look like this' according one of Peter Crouch's conversations with Rio Ferdinand.
Ronaldo made a name for himself during his six full seasons at Manchester United, a period in which Messi was beginning to become a world star while in Spain with Barcelona.
One of those close to Ronaldo at the time was United defender Ferdinand, who spoke to his England colleague Peter Crouch about some of Ronaldo's characteristics around Carrington.

In an extract from his book, How To Be A Footballer, Crouch said: "Rio Ferdinand would tell us stories about how Cristiano Ronaldo would stand in front of the mirror naked, running his hand through his hair, and say, 'Wow. I'm so beautiful!'
"The other United players would try to wind him up. 'Whatever. Leo Messi is a better player than you.'
"And he would shrug his shoulders and smile again. 'Ah yes. But Messi does not look like this…"

While Ronaldo would be amused by the comparisons to PSG's Messi, he has often dispelled talk of a deep rivalry – with the pair having 12 Ballon d'Ors between them.
He said back in 2019: "I really admire the career he has had so far, and, for his part, he has already said that he had trouble when I left the Spanish league because it is a rivalry that he appreciates.
"It is a good rivalry that exists in football, but this is no exception."
Ferdinand's close relationship with Ronaldo was recently called into question by Jamie Carragher, who entered a back and forth with his fellow former England defender online.
Carragher claimed that Ronaldo has asked his 'fanboy' Ferdinand to defend him on social media after being benched by Erik ten Hag at United.
Ferdinand wrote on Twitter while sharing a video clip of his thoughts: "Carra you still upset he didn’t shake ur hand at Old Trafford? The hardest thing to do in football is score goals…"
