Cristiano Ronaldo was left fuming with Portugal teammate Diogo Jota in the opening minutes of their clash with Hungary during their opening Euro 2020 clash.
The Group F opponents are currently locked in a 0-0 draw in Budapest in front of a capacity Puskas Stadium.
As expected, Portugal have had the most of the play, with Hungary sitting deep and relying on counter attack.
However, the favourites had a good chance to break the deadlock after just five minutes as Liverpool forward Jota found himself on the edge of the penalty area in a strong position.
The former Wolves man opted to shoot, despite the onrushing Ronaldo appearing to have space ahead of him and calling for the ball.
The Juventus man was clearly furious with his international team-mate, and made his feelings abundantly clear immediately.
The incident divided fans on Twitter, with some claiming Ronaldo would have done exactly the same.
One wrote: "I can bet anything I have, if Ronaldo was in that situation he will not pass that ball even if his teammate have an empty net in front of him."
"Same thing Ronaldo does over and over game," added a second on the social media platform.
However, one insisted that were Ronaldo in that position, he would have found the back of the net.
Looking to prompt a debate, one fan asked: "Would Ronaldo have passed if her was in the same position?"
"He would have scored," the confident Ronaldo supporter replied.
Having appeared against Hungary, Ronaldo became the first man to play in five separate European Championships having represented his country at Euro 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016.
The four time Ballon d'Or winner first appeared for Portugal at a major tournament in the opening game of Euro 2004, scoring a consolation goal in A Seleção's 2-1 defeat to eventual winners Greece.
