Ronaldo launched a chair at his teacher who joked about his poor family
Cristiano Ronaldo may be known for being one of the greatest footballers of all-time, but he is also known as being a devoted family man.
The Manchester United star has four children, and is regularly snapped spending time with his loved ones, including girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and mother Maria.
Ronaldo may be at the height of success at the age of 37, but he grew up in a troubled family that struggled to make ends meet, and the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has since revealed sadness that he never really knew his father well.
But he was still extremely proud of his family, and even threw a chair at his school teacher after they joked about the financial situation of his parents.
Ronaldo may be hailed as being one of the ultimate professionals, but at the age of 14 he was expelled from school for launching a chair at his teacher.
According to Ronaldo's biography, his teacher once made a joke about him and his family as they came from a poor background as they struggled to afford basic everyday needs, and he lost his cool and threw a chair.
Will Cristiano Ronaldo ever head back to Sporting Lisbon? Comment below.
The incident saw him expelled, and it was at that moment that Ronaldo decided to focus his attention entirely on football, which didn't turn out to be the worst move.
His prioritisation of football saw him land a deal with Sporting Lisbon, and after his first successful season in the first-team he was snapped up by United in 2003, and the rest is history.
