Cristiano Ronaldo has hit back on social media after his son was questioned for wearing both Nike and Adidas brands.

However, there were a number of comments that were critical of Cristiano Jr, who was sporting a Nike hoodie, shorts, Adidas socks and Adidas ‘Yeezy’ sliders.

In defence of his son, Ronaldo Sr commented on his mother’s post: ‘He wears what he wants. Not what you want.’
Ronaldo has long been associated with the Nike brand having first signed a sponsorship deal with them in 2003 when he first joined Manchester United.
In 2016, Ronaldo signed a massive $1 billion 10-year-deal with the sporting brand and regularly posts Nike related content on his social media.
He has become the central figure behind the brand’s football related campaigns.
It means that the 37-year-old exclusively wears clothes and gear from Nike, which includes football boots, shirts and sweatshirts.
However, this coincides at Old Trafford where Manchester United have their kits made by Adidas.
United signed a £750m deal with Adidas back in 2015 – the largest of its kind in the world in an agreement that will last until 2025.
Ronaldo’s sponsorship deal with Nike is just one of several massive brands the Portuguese superstar is linked with.

His list of sponsorship deals includes huge names such as Armani, Tag Heuer, Herbalife and Unilever.
He re-joined Manchester United last summer but has endured a frustrating season with the club falling way off their biggest rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Jr is looking to follow in his dad’s footsteps and joined Manchester United’s academy back in February.

He has made an instant impact for the academy, scoring a number of goals and playing alongside Kai Rooney, the son of his dad’s former team-mate Wayne.
The 12-year-old is the oldest of Ronaldo’s children and was born in the United States back in 2010.
Ronaldo has three other children, twins Eva and Mateo and Alana Martina who is the youngest.
Back in October, Ronaldo confirmed that he and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez are expecting once again. In an Instagram post he confirmed that they are expecting twins.
