Roberto Firmino moment with Luis Diaz shows what Liverpool will miss

Leeds United v Liverpool: Pictures

Roberto Firmino’s reaction to Luis Diaz’s return from injury highlighted what Liverpool will be losing when he departs at the end of the season. The Brazilian was positively buzzing for his team-mate as he made his return from six months out with a knee injury against Leeds United with many supporters pleading for the 31-year-old to extend his stay.

Firmino is considered by many to be a Liverpool legend after being integral to many of the team’s biggest successes in recent years. He has made 360 appearances for the club since his arrival in 2015 scoring 109 goals in that time while he was the first-choice No 9 for both the Champions League win of 2019 and Premier League success in 2020.

However, he is set to leave at the end of the season when his contract expires as he seeks a new challenge. He has already shown how big a miss he will be behind the scenes with his excited reaction to Diaz return from injury. In a video posted on Liverpool’s Instagram page, Firmino was seen beaming and clapping on the sidelines as the Colombian got ready to return after six months out.

The clip was well received by Liverpool supporters with many of them pleading for the Brazilian to stay beyond the end of the season.
