Rio Ferdinand mercilessly mocked for six-point ‘masterplan’ to fix Man Utd
Rio Ferdinand's "revolutionary" plan for Erik ten Hag to fix Manchester United has been torn apart on social media – and even Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has got involved.
The former England defender was asked to put together a six-point plan on BT Sport before his former side took on Arsenal in the Premier League, and his suggestions were fairly obvious according to many supporters.
Step one of 'set the culture' is followed by 'improve recruitment' and 'structural reset', with 'clear playing style' and 'embrace youth' concluded by 'develop players' with Carragher liking a tweet that showed the masterplan and gave the sarcastic caption: "Revolutionary stuff."
With one Twitter user then adding: "Ooohh Rio has a clear detailed wild, totally wild, 6 point plan. Man Utd are saved. Give him a job."
A second continued: "I can’t help read this plan by Rio and think….these 6 points are repeated but just worded differently."
With a third going on to say: "Watch out Klopp, Rio’s got a plan."

A fourth wrote: "Stuff like Rio's 6 point plan is why Ten Hag won't win a CL or PL with Man Utd."
A fifth put: "Also a lot of Rio's 6 point plan isn't under Ten Hag's remit to fix, or are just generic buzzwords."
With a sixth agreeing: "This guy and his 6 point plan. Revolutionary stuff and only Rio has taught of this. Stop talking Rio….. just stop talking."
Ferdinand had said of his plan: "You talk about the six points, and the main one is the culture.
"I have spoken about it for months. Recruitment is obvious, how many have come in and you have said, it is a perfect match?
"We have not said that often enough with Manchester United and that needs to improve going forward."
United's hopes of securing Champions League football under Ralf Rangnick were all but ended with their 3-1 defeat at the Emirates on Saturday.
