Reynolds and McElhenney send Wrexham stars full Las Vegas itinerary

Reynolds and McElhenney join Wrexham players on bus parade

Wrexham’s National League title-winning stars are off to Las Vegas to celebrate their promotion to League Two – and they’ve already received a full itinerary for the trip. Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are treating their Wrexham players to a trip to Vegas, fully paid for, after finishing the season with 111 points and promotion back to the Football League.

Wrexham also put in a good account of themselves in the FA Cup, which saw them beat Coventry but lose to Premier League-bound Sheffield United in a fourth-round replay.

“It became a thing where if we won the league, we’d get a holiday,” 46-goal hero Paul Mullin revealed to GQ. “So we’re off to Vegas. Ryan and Rob told us to leave our cards at home, they’re sorting the lot. They sent us a full itinerary just now. Part of me doesn’t want to go, I might be dead by the end of it. But I’d never go to Vegas by my own accord, so I’m buzzing for it.”

Hollywood stars Reynolds and McElhenney have been hands-on owners, regularly attending games, and their star status has brought a real buzz around the club. “I’ve never had owners like these, they care so much,” Mullin said about the pair.

“And it’s not just about the club, they care about the people. They’ll ring us to see how we’re getting on, they’ll ask how the family is.

“They also keep speaking about how they’re trying to put a spotlight on every other club in the National League, and Wales as a country. People in America are now interested in football because of these two guys. You wouldn’t think this sport could have gotten any bigger, but it has because of them.”

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson will not join his team on their trip to Sin City. “I didn’t make the cut for the Vegas trip, unfortunately,” he told Sky Sports.

“We’ll leave that one to the lads and hopefully they will come back in one piece. I’m sure they will.”
