  • It also puts a further dent in their hopes to secure a Champions League place

Arsenal have been mocked by Southampton star Nathan Redmond in video posted on popular social media network TikTok.

The 28-year-old was signing autographs after his side won 1-0 against the Gunners on Saturday, which made it three defeats in a row for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Redmond was unfazed at beating the Champions League chasers when saying to a fan ‘they’re not very good’.

Jan Bednarek’s goal just before half-time for the Saints secured the win for the hosts, and inflicted more misery on the north Londoners, who have suffered a further set-back in their hopes to secure Champions League football next season.

Arteta’s were favourite to secure a fourth place Premier League finish a few weeks, but suffered defeats to Crystal Palace and Brighton before their visit to the South Coast.

Tottenham were also beaten at the weekend in the early kick-off on Saturday, and the Gunners had the chance to revitalise their chances of a top four finish.

Despite the defeat, Arsenal had a staggering 23 shots and 76 percent of the ball but were unable to find a way past a resolute Fraser Forster.

In a video posted to TikTok, one-time England international Redmond is asked by a fan how he felt after the victory over Arsenal.

‘It’s alright,’ Redmond says in the clip with a smirk, before joking: ‘They’re not very good.’

It remains be seen whether the Birmingham-born winger knew he was being recorded or not.

Arsenal are now three points off fourth-placed Spurs, but do have a game in hand over their rivals, but the Gunners have now failed to score for the third time in five games.

‘They are really down today and they are down because they cannot find the right answer – apart from what we can do better around the box – not to win that match,’ Arteta said after the defeat.

‘And that’s the frustration. When somebody’s better, you shake their hands and you have to be critical with yourself.

‘But, apart from 25 minutes against Palace and some periods against Brighton in the first half, it’s very difficult to explain and accept.’

Arsenal play their game in hand away to Chelsea on Wednesday evening.
